Investing in a Generation
Our goal is to invest in the next generation of leaders in the Walker Basin, empowering them with knowledge and skills that will benefit both their career opportunities and the stewardship of the region.
By combining outdoor experiences, STEM-based and locally focused environmental education, and meaningful employment and job training opportunities, we are equipping rural youth with skills and providing opportunities to become environmental leaders, both locally and globally.
We firmly believe that investing in our youth is a powerful way to shape the future.

“The Walker Basin Conservancy is an outstanding partner in our community. The organization has the ability to get our kids outside and to instill an enjoyment and appreciation of the outdoors in our area.”
Local Knowledge, World-Class Science
The Conservancy’s highly qualified team brings diverse skills, from scientific expertise in natural resources to operating heavy machinery and managing local farms. Alongside our team’s extensive firsthand experience, community-based knowledge, and history of the land, our Environmental Education Program aims to create meaningful education experiences for youth in the Walker Basin right in their own backyard.
